Major League Gaming (MLG), the global leader in eSports, and ESPN X Games are teaming up for the first Counterstrike: Global Offensive MLG X Games Invitational at the X Games Aspen from January 23-25, 2014. Video Games The Movie in Denver Sunday, July 20, 2014 5:30 PM @ Sie FilmCenter. From the kickstarter of Jeremy Snead of Dallas, TX comes Video Games: The Movie. This film is a an in depth feature length documentary about the video game industry. The movie covers how video games are made, marketed, and consumed by looking back at gaming history and culture. The film examines what it means to be a a game maker, a gamer, and looks at where the game industry is heading. We plan to fly in from Dallas, Texas on Sunday, July 20th to join the Colorado IGDA Chapter, Colorado Game Developers and others interested in video games at this special showing. There is a group discount price for Colorado Game Developers/IGDA members. This will be a great opportunity to network and celebrate video games in Colorado. They have a full bar inside with local craft beer and a decent liquor selection. QUAKECON 2014 at the Hilton Anatole in Dallas, Texas from July 17-20, 2014. QuakeCon is one of North America's largest LAN partys. Bring-your-own-computer (BYOC) and play games casually or compete in a tournament. The event fills up quick and is named after id Software's game Quake.

July 11th-13th, 2014 at LVH - Las Vegas Hotel & Casino for EVO 2014 (The 2014 Evolution Championship Series). The annual international fighting games tournament event. Join us for one of the largest and longest-running fighting game tournaments in the world. The event returns to the Sheraton Denver Tech Center in 2014 which is a great venue to allow more space for all these great games. We encourage you to show a game, demo or content you built at any game jam including at the 2014 Colorado GLOBAL GAME JAM sites. Everyone is invited to show your original game made in a weekend + any additions you add. Free to attend. Friends and family welcome. Developers from sites across Colorado come together each year and show off their games at this event. This event is FREE to attend. If you wish to show content at any of our events, it must not infringe on intellectual property rights, be pornographic, violent or in any way defame others.
